Bridgewater Sustainability Festival

Bridgewater Sustainability Festival 2010  is  Green and GROWING.   The Town of Bridgewater is host to another FREE street festival to highlight and celebrate green community initiatives, on August 21st.  As a past vendor and participant in the first sustainability festival held at Shipyards Landing, I encourage you to come early and plan to have FUN.

This year's festival extends from the Bridgewater Integrated Community Sustainability Plan – a long term vision for how ALL people in our community can live within the earth’s means, while meeting Their basic needs. For 2 years, leaders from all walks of life met to hash out what mattered economically and personally.  I was the company representative for one of these Sustainability Partners.
This year's festival organizers want to attract over 500 participants including guests, volunteers, vendors and performers. The festival is family friendly and there will be activities for all ages. And unlike a lot of activities today, admission is FREE to Growing Green!

The festival will include: music, local book readings, art displays, food & drink, kid & family activities, community group booths, skills demonstrations and workshops, a family-oriented parade to promote safe walking and cycling, and a 115KM bike ride!
All of the events are designed to promote participation and open up " the discussion" on living more green. The festival strives to celebrate and inspire healthy, ecological lifestyles.

Growing Green! is funded by the Town of Bridgewater & local sponsors and coordinated by a team of Community Volunteers, Town Staff & Council.

Date & Time: Saturday August 21, from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.
